CLEAR OUT YOUR GARAGE OR LOFT
ONE man’s junk is another man’s treasure, so why not clear out that clutter and start making money?
There are many options including websites like Gumtree and eBay, car boot sales and, of course, the classifieds ads in this newspaper!
A new website launched by Alun Pearson and developed by Teesside University - www.Tompee.com - is useful for specialist or unusual items that are unlikely to sell in just one or two weeks.
Alun, 43, thinks his site could be as big as eBay. He said: “I have sold over £700 worth of stuff on the site in the last three weeks. You get 10 spaces for free to list everything from that unused coffee percolator to the cat box that’s been in the garage 10 years. Items are listed for the price you want and stay on the site until you sell them.”
Tompee charges 60p commission for items sold under £10. Commission is charged on a percentage basis for items over £10.
